Generally speaking, you would use a spreadsheet if your data is not too complex, consists mostly of numbers and you should execute many different sorts of calculations. Spreadsheets typically do not supply the ability to structure and label data items as fully as a database and typically do not provide the capacity to query the database. Generally speaking, a spreadsheet is a far simpler program than a database program. Spreadsheets which have a formula language based upon logical expressions, as opposed to arithmetic expressions are called logical spreadsheets.
